Key Responsibilities
Knowledge:
- Demonstrates proven expertise in interpersonal and relationship-building skills, alongside strong influencing and negotiation abilities.
- Possesses a solid understanding of relevant therapeutic areas and disease states.
- Stays informed about industry trends and remains current with competitors' resources and practices. Capable of discussing the advantages and disadvantages of product protocols.
- Identifies emerging issues, solutions, and opportunities, effectively communicating insights to management and marketing teams.
- Exhibits strong analytical skills, capable of recognizing and understanding moderately complex issues and providing suitable recommendations to management and specialists.
- Works effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Must be self-driven and able to operate with a general level of autonomy and independence. Previous experience in the pharmaceutical sector is essential, with relevant therapeutic knowledge being advantageous.
Specific education and experience requirements:
- Ideal candidates will hold a BA or BS degree, along with 4+ years of relevant sales experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Prior experience in the relevant therapeutic area is highly preferred.
- Achievement of any mandatory country-specific pharmaceutical sales certifications is essential.
Specific job responsibilities:
- Accountable for meeting coverage and frequency targets while consistently achieving sales objectives within the assigned territory.
- Contributes to regional training initiatives, enhancing the key skills of fellow team members.
- With guidance, establishes systems to track sales progress and action plans, regularly assessing success and providing performance feedback.
- May collaborate with external partner companies to co-promote products or services.
- Manages territory budgets for customer interactions, speaker events, and other miscellaneous external expenses.
- May represent the company at professional events, promoting Gilead's products and services.
- Collaborates with Medical Science Liaisons, National Account Managers, Marketing, and other internal Gilead team members on various cross-functional projects.
- Aids in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities, proactively communicating with marketing and sales management.
- Completes necessary administrative tasks promptly, such as updating customer databases and managing expenses.
- Ensures efficient collaboration across the commercial team on projects.
- Operates in compliance with Gilead's commercial compliance policies and all applicable federal and state laws regarding product promotion and information dissemination.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of frontline sales experience in the oncology sector within a multinational pharmaceutical company.
- Familiarity with and endorsement of professional promotion models.
- Experience in the breast cancer therapeutic area is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant pharmaceutical field.
- Science-oriented mindset.
- Exceptional academic capabilities, along with strong cross-departmental collaboration and communication skills.
