Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Account Executive to join our Cross Border Business team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving business growth and developing new local advertisers and agency partners in the China market.

Key Accountabilities
  • Research and identify potential opportunities in the China market and develop new local advertisers and agency partners.
  • Enhance business scale with top local advertisers by deep-diving into their expectations and providing performance enhancement solutions with our cross-function teams.
  • Lead joint business plan development, agency-level strategy, and develop existing agency relationships to facilitate agreements and speed up business growth.
  • Collaborate with our Ad Products and other key departments to enhance our products via customer feedback-sharing and other customer-related activities.
  • Improve awareness and media priority of SmartNews in the local targeting industry via conference attending and other marketing solutions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 3 years of experience in advertising/online media sales or marketing.
  • A proven track record of delivering results.
  • Experience of 2 years or more in cross-border transactions and working experience of serving clients in Asia countries.
  • Business-level English and Chinese.
  • Ability to make frequent business trips for on-site project management, and ability to carry out new customer acquisition and manage relationships with both new and existing customers.
Nice-to-Have Experience/Skills

We are also looking for candidates with:

  • Working experience at a startup.
  • Strong executive presence, with the ability to effectively grow relationships and deepen partnerships achieving large-sized sale scale (millions of USD).
  • Ability to communicate in Japanese fluently.
  • Understanding of the industry's issues, a vision for growth, and commitment to advancing SmartNews's strategies within the marketplace.
