Job Summary

As a key member of the Marriott International team, the Security Manager II plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our guests, employees, and property assets. This position reports directly to the Director of Security and is responsible for managing security operations on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of emergency procedures to ensure a swift and effective response to security incidents.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of all losses of property assets and refer to management for disposition.
  • Deploy security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets, ensuring the safety of guests and employees.
  • Comply with all Corporate Security safety and security management guidelines and procedures.
  • Complete proper documentation and reports all employee accident and general liability incidents to Claims Reporting Service.
  • Conduct periodic patrols of the entire property and parking areas to identify potential security risks.
  • Recognize and address success across areas of responsibility, ensuring continuous improvement in security operations.
  • Handle guest problems and complaints, settling disputes and resolving grievances and conflicts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Identify and make recommendations for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices.
  • Implement action plans to monitor and control risk, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
  • Keep abreast of local criminal activity as it may impact property, staying informed to ensure effective security measures.
  • Maintain required reports and documentation regarding patrols of property and parking areas.
  • Inspect all security equipment to ensure it is fully functioning and in good working order.
  • Provide means for obtaining necessary medical attention on a timely basis, ensuring the well-being of guests and employees.
  • Conduct hourly employee performance appraisals according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Identify the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
  • Complete disciplinary procedures and documentation according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and support the Peer Review Process.
  • Maintain first aid and CPR certifications required for Security officers.
  • Implement local authority requirements for security and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area.
  • OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Criminal Justice or related major; 1 year experience in the security/loss prevention or related professional area.
Working Relationships

This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with security staff, management, and other stakeholders. The Security Manager II must be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in security operations.
