Strategic Social Development Director for Infrastructure Projects

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a leading international financial institution committed to promoting sustainable development in Asia and beyond. As a Principal Social Development Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the realization of AIIB's commitment to sustainable development by leading the social development team within the Sustainability and Fiduciary Solutions Department.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in social planning and risk management, with at least 15 years of relevant international experience working for or as a government counterpart or consultant to a multilateral/regional development bank, bilateral development organization, or private sector organization engaged in infrastructure projects and their financing.
Responsibilities- Provide strategic leadership to the Social Development Team and advise on the application of AIIB's Environmental and Social Framework (ESF)
- Manage and lead a team of social development specialists, including assigning appropriate specialists and engaging consultants to support project teams in the preparation and implementation of investment projects
- Advising and supporting social development specialists in the application of ESF in investment operations
- Develop and conduct training on the ESF and associated policies for AIIB staff and clients
The successful candidate will possess strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record as a manager and/or leader of interdisciplinary teams. They will also have sound critical thinking and familiarity with business processes and international good practice in infrastructure investment operations. A high level of personal integrity and a sense of accountability are essential for this role.
Requirements- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in relevant disciplines of social sciences
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant international experience in social planning and risk management
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with a proven track record as a manager and/or leader of interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with business processes and international good practice in infrastructure investment operations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
