About the Role
In the capacity of Technical Sales Manager, your primary focus will be on expanding HARMAN's automotive sector by achieving both immediate and strategic booking objectives. You will engage with clients at the onset to cultivate business prospects and drive these initiatives with favorable commercial terms to secure contracts. This role is crucial for managing HARMAN's potential client relationships within the Chinese market from a technical perspective. You will support the sales team in identifying and defining new business avenues.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with product and business development teams to pinpoint optimal prospects, relevant use cases, and compelling value propositions, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and guiding product development. Implement pursuit strategies for new business opportunities that align with customer account objectives. Identify and initiate new business pursuits, leading early engagement activities, including strategic planning and managing customer requests for information/quotes. Oversee responses to requests for information/quotes for new business opportunities, managing pricing and commercial negotiations with clients. Develop unique selling propositions and value statements that differentiate HARMAN's offerings. Assess customer expectations regarding costs, requirements, and timelines, setting internal targets to meet these needs. Identify key stakeholders and decision-makers, formulating strategies to secure new business.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or Engineering. Over 3 years of technical sales experience in in-cabin products, such as Digital Cockpit/Display, with a strong understanding of product features, benefits, and underlying technologies. Proven experience in the automotive industry with a focus on technical sales, system design, or product architecture, with a preference for candidates with 5+ years in Technical Business Development or Product Marketing. A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in the automotive sector. Established connections with major automotive manufacturers such as Geely, BYD, Changan, or GAC are advantageous. Skills in upselling and cross-selling products are beneficial. Strong understanding of P&L statements, business cases, and contract negotiations. Demonstrated ability in technical interpretation, hunting, and negotiation. Experience in executing strategic initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic technical knowledge of automotive hardware and software systems. Familiarity with automotive OEM organizational structures and processes. Experience working with relevant customers in the industry.

Additional Requirements

Willingness to travel up to 30%, including both domestic and international travel. Flexibility to work in various environments, including remote work with occasional office visits. Successful completion of background checks and drug screenings as a condition of employment.
