We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Communications Manager to join our team at Abbott. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support businesses with understanding communications needs and develop integrated communications plans to generate compelling stories and build product and brand competitiveness.
  • Build and manage media relations to drive positive media coverage and support in employee communications to drive employee pride and advocacy.
  • Manage agencies to bring value and effective results, and support in communication plan development and execution of reputation building and stakeholder management programs and campaigns in China.
  • Own sound media relationships and continuously develop and manage them with the changing environment, and proactively manage issues and crises to protect reputation.
  • Support in digital communications, including social media content development and review, and manage PR/event/digital agencies for effective delivery on an ongoing basis.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of public relations/media experience, healthcare industry preferred.
  • Solid communications planning skills, strong social/digital media sense to drive omni-channel communications, and experience in managing different scale, multi-stakeholder communications campaigns.
  • Experience in reputation management, media strategy, issues management, and managing PR/event agencies.
  • Strong writing skills with a core understanding and experience with media, and professional level of English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Skills:

  • Self-motivated, creative, understanding, and passion for communications, strong communication skills - both written and verbal - with the ability to present ideas in a clear and concise way.
  • Attention to details and results-driven, excellent team player with ability to motivate and influence for resources, and strong project management and coordination skills.
  • Excellent administrative skills to ensure the keeping of accurate records and meaningful information for reporting and evaluation, and proven ability to work on own initiative, meet deadlines, multi-task, and work well under pressure.
