About the Role


The Assistant Curator, Academic & Public Programs position at NYU Shanghai offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of an arts organization in China.


Key Responsibilities



  • Curate and organize public programs, including talks, workshops, screenings, and performances;
  • Develop and implement academic/community engagement initiatives to enrich educational mission;
  • Manage operational budgets and coordinate logistics for events and exhibitions;
  • Cultivate relationships with university and local communities to engage diverse audiences;
  • Assist in identifying funding opportunities and drafting grant proposals;
  • Provide support in data collection and analysis for program evaluations and impact measurement;

Requirements



  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred;
  • 3-4 years of experience in arts administration, preferably in non-profit or academic institution;
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary art, art history, and theory;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks;

Compensation and Benefits


We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
