About the Role

This position is responsible for overseeing residential programs, supervising Resident Assistants, and providing holistic support to students living in residence halls. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be proficient in using databases and technology, and possess strong problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage housing services through the StarRez system, ensuring timely and accurate billing and compliance with relevant policies.
  • Supervise 6-15 Residence Assistants (RAs) and provide regular feedback and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with on-campus and non-campus residence hall management teams to maintain high-quality facilities and services.
  • Provide administrative support to other Residential Education Staff members as needed.
  • Respond to student inquiries and offer general assistance to residents.
  • Assist with large-scale programming events, room-mate mediations, and transition periods.
  • Manage crisis response situations during office hours and ensure proper training for RAs.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred in related fields.
  • 1-2 years of work-related experience in Higher Education/Student Affairs.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills for an international and cross-cultural environment.
  • High professional integrity, honesty, and trust.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and service-minded.
  • Proficiency in using computers, databases, social media, and comfortable learning new technology.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience. NYU Shanghai offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
