Senior Category Expert

We're seeking a skilled Category Associate to join our team at AMEX. In this role, you'll work closely with external partners, suppliers, and internal teams to drive business growth and strategic decisions.
As a key member of our category team, you'll be responsible for defining goals and strategy, problem-solving, and executing tactical plans. You'll analyze data to identify revenue and profit growth opportunities and collaborate with internal teams to drive change.
- Develop strong relationships with existing suppliers and negotiate to secure best pricing and promotional support.
- Advance catalog expansion, develop relationships with target suppliers, and identify sales, merchandising, and operational opportunities.
- Analyze and anticipate competitor marketing, selection, and pricing strategy.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in ecommerce, sourcing, or supply-side sales.
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint expertise, with a readiness to work with data using Excel, SQL, Tableau, and other tools.
- Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A track record of successful negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Innovative problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions.
