About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior E-Commerce Category Strategist to join our team at AMEX. As a key member of our category management team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive business growth and profitability in our Asia market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Category Strategy Development: Develop and manage category strategy in alignment with Wayfair business goals and collaborate across geographies with the North America and European category teams for relevant categories.
  • Supplier Management: Manage a portfolio of Asia-based suppliers within the category, driving supplier development by setting strategic goals, negotiating business terms, and reviewing performance.
  • Analytical Insights: Analyze supplier and category performance to determine tactical next steps and strategic vision, involving relevant cross-functional teams (e.g., operations).
  • Negotiation and Escalation: Negotiate frequently with existing suppliers to optimize performance and cost base, exclusivity, advertising, and other strategic initiatives from Wayfair. Be a senior internal and external escalation point, often involving negotiations with C-suite members from external partners.
  • Trend Identification: Identify trends, problems, and opportunities for either the category or supplier segment, and collaborate with internal teams to drive change.
  • Team Leadership: Manage team members, provide guidance and directions towards junior members in the team, and lead the team to achieve targets.

Requirements

  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in both Mandarin and English.
  • Relationship Building: A track record of success in developing relationships with stakeholders, working collaboratively, and negotiating to drive multi-departmental projects.
  • Analytical Mindset: An analytical mindset and data-driven approach, demonstrated experience working with complex data to develop robust commercial recommendations.
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrated success in building business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiation Skills: Track record of leading successful commercial negotiations.
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced level Excel and PowerPoint expertise.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving: Innovative problem-solving skills; dissecting and determining the root causes of problems and implementing solutions.
  • E-commerce Experience: Experience in an e-commerce or management consulting environment is advantageous.

Compensation Package

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
