• Lead the Regional Business Management for TDI & Inorganics in Asia Pacific
• Collaborate with global team, to set up and revisit Asian TDI & Inorganics strategy, lead the implementation
• Act as Country Local Business Manager on top of the regional role, if the position is located in Indonesia
Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities:
1. Regional TDI & Inorganics business management
• Optimize short and long term profitability to ensure sustainable business growth in Asia Pacific
• Actively steer business in Asia Pacific to achieve business objectives and enhance market position.
• Develop and manage the regional marketing/sales operational plan and budget (P&L)
• Drive sales and profitability targets for Asia Pacific businesses in collaboration with local sales teams
• Guide, motivate and support sales and marketing teams in countries across Asia by providing directions and necessary information on market trend/ knowledge, product applications and know-how.
• Accountable for the business performance of the country sales team in terms of target setting for SBU leaders in country to ensure business accountability.
• Drive TDI & Inorganics price strategy in Asia Pacific to improve profitability and secure market position in A/P countries.
• Ensure pricing discipline across Asia Pacific through developing and managing regional pricing policy.
• Manage overall business risk exposure for profit maximization by optimizing customer portfolio/ basket.
• Monitor and influence the cost position of TDI: feedstock, logistics, warehousing/storage tanks costs.
• Leverage on business indicators and benchmarking to enhance sales efficiency, and continuous improvement for customer interaction interface.
• Collaborate intensively with internal and external stakeholders in TDI business (i.e., CMS, Country sales teams, key accounts etc.)
• Facilitate regional/global exchange of market information relating to industry teams by leveraging on the market intelligence.
• Drive TDI investment initiatives and investment processes with guidance of the steering committee
• Work closely with technical and production teams to meet customer needs and target industry trends (through innovation strategy)
• Support regional TDI & inorganics product stewardship and compliance initiatives.
• Digitalize the market intelligence collection and analysis, and reporting process.
2. Regional TDI & Inorganics Marketing Strategy
• Develop, implement and monitor the mid and long term regional TDI marketing strategy in Asia Pacific, to grow TDI business in Asia Pacific sustainably and profitably.
• Develop and implement annual regional TDI marketing plans in Asia Pacific, based on the agreed targets between RBU and local sales teams
• Define new and existing target areas for growth (i.e. identify, scout market trends and explore new business opportunities and development (including acquisition, investment and cooperation opportunities))
• Define TDI marketing channels in Asia Pacific and implement business model with the support of local sales teams.
• Support product strategies in alignment with global and regional strategies
• Analyze the competition landscape and recommend strategic actions to management.
• Lead innovation roadmap / strategy development and implementation, including new product launch.
3. Regional TDI & Inorganics Product Management
• Allocation of captive and third-party supply to the countries and customers with a view to maximizing BASF’s profitability
• Act as primary interface to key internal stakeholders.
• Manage collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery/offtake with cost effective logistics.
• Discuss with CMS, and the regional production sites to ensure optimal local production and product supply in the region, including imports, as and when appropriate.
• Coordinate with CMS and regional supply chain team for co-production outsourcing (intra/inter-regions)
• Develop business with innovative and sustainable products/solution.
4. Local Business Management
• In charge of the local business management and leading the local sales team on top of the above regional roles and responsibilities, in case the position is located in Indonesia.
Job Requirements:
Education Background
• Holder of university degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or a relevant technical field; MBA preferred
Working Experience
• At least 10 years' experience in sales & marketing in multinational environment with at least 5 years in a supervisory/regional role
Technical & Professional Knowledge
• Good knowledge in Isocyanates business will be a plus
