As Compliance Counsel your primary role will be responsible to regularly and proactively advise and support business on all compliance matters as well as develop, implement and maintain the compliance program in Straumann China and Straumann Japan, which is in compliance with Straumann Group policies, guidelines, national legislation, dental industry code and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  1. Interact effectively with business team to understand business challenges and provide compliance guidelines and advisory.
  2. Serve as an essential communication link on compliance matters between the business and functions.
  3. Assist,facilitate and promote internal policy/process creation and update.
  4. Provide training to the business teams on key compliance topics and global/local policies to raise general awareness and promote compliance messages.
  5. Take key role in the approval process from compliance perspective for commercial and scientific activities incl. ad boards, congresses. symposiums, grants, sponsorships, etc.
  6. Support in developing and implementing requested global/local compliance projects or initiatives.
  7. Identify opportunities to minimize compliance risks, prevent and detect inconsistent conduct and undertake corrective plans.
  8. Conduct and/or participate in internal investigations; working with HR to assist subseqent decipiline measures.
  9. Perform compliance special projects incl. due diligence, monitoring, investigations, implementation of IT tools.
  10. Ensure compliance related processes are streamlined to ensure easy adherence for line of business.
  11. Act as seceratery of Compliance Committee to make meeting minutes and arrange agendas. Monitor management's progress on agreed action plans in response to recommendations.
  12. Stay up to date of regulatory and legal developments and report such developments to Group's Legal and Compliance Team.

Professional General Competencies

  1. Fluent written and verbal Mandarin and English language.
  2. Strong academic background with related experience in internal control or compliance in medical device or healthcare industry
  3. A driven individual who strives to provide a high-quality service to the business.
  4. An excellent communicator including written, verbal and listening skills.
  5. Ability to evaluate issues objectively, document and verbally present conclusions logically.
  6. Ability to analyze data efficiently and effectively with excel and / or data analytical tools, and present results in well-structured and concise formats.
  7. Ability to positively and objectively influence stakeholders within the business at all levels.
  8. Ability to multi-tasks and work with regularly varying and developing priorities.

Other

  • Bachelor's degree in business studies, Accounting, Economics, Management or a related degree.
  • 7+ years of experience as Compliance in multi-national company with similar industry background (i.e. medical device or pharm).
