The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team at Lam Research. As a key member of our Customer Support Business Group, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational excellence of our complex semiconductor equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site repair, maintenance, and installation services for Lam's complex electro-mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Perform analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to minimize downtime and equipment malfunctions.
  • Stay up-to-date on semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through learning, training, and certification.
  • Assist in complex field modifications and updates, maintaining records and reports to coordinate activities between Lam and the customer.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to our valued customers, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot and create customer response action plans to support customer needs.
  • Provide technical instruction and mentoring for more junior engineers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 3+ years; or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operation manuals.
  • Able to work in a clean room environment while wearing personal protective safety equipment.
  • Frequently position oneself to perform job tasks for extended periods.
  • Able to travel frequently, domestically and internationally, based on customer needs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with common office software.
  • Communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Foundational analytical and problem-solving skills.
