Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Investment Director to lead and support the generation of deal flow, pre-select attractive deals, and execute investments for Bosch. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investment experience, technical or strategic/commercial expertise, and a deep understanding of the technology and innovation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the generation of deal flow, pre-select attractive deals, and execute investments for Bosch.
  • Develop and maintain a valuable external network for Bosch in China to source and assess deal flow.
  • Establish and leverage internal and external experts in specific search areas for due diligence purposes.
  • Collaborate with investment principals/partners to add value to portfolio companies.
  • Support the management of the internal/external contact network and Bosch's future strategy.

Qualifications

Background and Experience

A successful candidate will have at least 4 years of relevant professional experience, with a strong background in investment experience, technical or strategic/commercial expertise, and a deep understanding of the technology and innovation ecosystem.

Requirements

  • Entrepreneurial thinking and market know-how in relevant search clusters.
  • Technical background, including education in relevant engineering and science subjects, such as physics and semiconductor, and a strong relevant professional network.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the technology and innovation ecosystem.
  • Solid investment experience in VC stage, focusing on hard technology, with evaluation and transaction experiences in start-up environments.
  • Strong personality and team ability.
  • Mobility and flexibility.

Competences

  • Ability to comprehend technology and understand technical and commercial challenges in a development process, particularly in RBVC's search clusters.
  • Strategy & business development know-how: Ability to grasp a business model and understand challenges in building the business.
  • Experience in analyzing a variety of business models.
  • Experience in analyzing markets and strategies.
  • Know-how in assessing investment opportunities.
  • Financial knowledge.
  • Basic external accounting knowledge.
  • Financial modeling or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to present the team in a professional way.
  • Networking skills (entrepreneurs, research institutes, other corporates, politics, academia) with good relevant internal network.
  • Strong English language skills (in speech and writing).
  • Persuasiveness.
  • Credibility.
  • Ability to act at senior management level.
