Recombinant Proteins Business Development Manager Role

This is a key role in shaping the market and driving business growth for our recombinant protein products. You will be responsible for identifying and capitalizing on new market opportunities, collaborating with different sales channels, building strong relationships with important partners, and developing effective account and market strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and assess new market opportunities for recombinant protein applications, strategically positioning our products within specific workflows.
  • Foster and nurture strong connections with important individuals in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic fields, highlighting the significance of our recombinant protein offerings.
  • Create overall account and market strategies to drive growth and improve market share, aligning with field sales organizations and marketing goals.
  • Develop strong relationships with Account Executives, Scientific Key Opinion Leaders, Procurement, and other influential contacts to ensure mutually beneficial business results.
  • Lead the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing deals, focusing on understanding and addressing customer workflow needs.
  • Facilitate communication between accounts and Thermo Fisher Scientific teams, regularly sharing business updates with important parties.
  • Identify emerging key accounts and coordinate with local teams for support.
  • Apply your understanding of the Recombinant proteins portfolio to aid customers in experiment design and timeline determination.
  • Identify specific strategies for growth, obtain customer support, and ensure successful implementation across sales channels.
  • Establish a structured approach to clearly define, communicate, activate, manage performance, and implement strategic choices and initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Advanced degree in Life Sciences, with in-depth knowledge of stem cell, immunology, or neuroscience. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience with a successful track record in interacting with procurement, scientific, and C-suite customers.
  • Proven ability to coordinate activities and influence actions across a team of resources.
  • Understanding of the competitive landscape in the customer base.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to assess and understand profitability of customer relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Good business English proficiency.
  • Strong written and oral communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Energetic, motivated, and resourceful.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Life Sciences background with a PhD or equivalent experience, including practical knowledge in stem cell, organoid, and immunology.
  • MBA or other professional business education, or relevant experience.
  • Previous experience with biopharma accounts.
  • Matrix management and/or cross-functional experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, including basic financial training.
  • Excellent oral and written English proficiency.
