Job Description

This role has been created to support the requirements of senior developers in the Analyst Developer job family and provide a launching pad for transition into more senior roles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with analyst testers to create user story definitions and acceptance criteria, ensuring cohesive and logical implementation and testing.
  • Define underlying design required to deliver changes within feature/user story constraints.
  • Ensure solutions are well-defined, fit-for-purpose, and meet technical specs and design requirements.
  • Provide solutions and recommendations for resolving technical issues.
  • Design and build APIs and external system interfaces for integration into core FNZ products and third-party vendor applications.
Development
  • Interpret complex financial business requirements and translate into high-transactional, high-availability, secure systems.
  • Lend expertise to advise on and influence the design and implementation of intuitive user interface and interactive financial tools.
  • Consider non-functional requirements for high-volume, real-time transaction processing systems.
  • Collaborate with other developers to ensure solutions are robust and in-line with requirements.
  • Evaluate and improve code reusability and maintainability.
  • Establish expertise in multiple system/technical areas of the FNZ platform.
  • Contribute to global non-client specific projects to advance key technical strategies.
Quality
  • Adhere to defined procedures for code management, code reviews, coding standards, naming conventions, and security standards.
  • Write automated unit tests for newly created code.
  • Perform manual testing to ensure high-quality changes.
  • Review code for quality and best practice standards.
  • Design new core system functionality or redesign existing ones while maintaining quality.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Promote the development team internally and externally, sharing creative solutions and achievements.
  • Collaborate with other developers to share knowledge, best practices, and opportunities for cross-project system design/solutions.
  • Mentor new starters to understand the platform and SDLC.
  • Provide solution centre-wide training on topics of personal expertise.
  • Support the project lead developer and act as squad lead if required.
Technology
  • Stay up-to-date with industry practices, new technologies, tools, and methods.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies and tools for adoption.
  • Take ownership of and resolve technical issues that impede development progress.
  • Create novel solutions by incorporating cutting-edge technology or generic concepts.
Functional Area Responsibilities

Analyst Developers at FNZ are all-rounders who can work across the full stack. This role involves working with complex business requirements in a wide range of functional areas in the financial services and platform domain.

You will be an expert in multiple technical areas and make your mark as a business domain expert as well. This is evidenced in your delivery track record and your ability to execute your individual responsibilities and provide your expertise and support to colleagues when needed.

Analyst Developers own non-functional requirements and are responsible for ensuring that their code complies with coding standards, is secure, and performs well.

At entry-level, you are responsible for learning best-practice in these areas from your senior peers.

Experience Required

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A first-class bachelor's degree or higher and/or equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working on large-scale technology delivery projects and successfully delivering technology change.
  • Confidence in taking a lead role in a delivery-focused environment.
  • Ability to work with different levels of stakeholders within a project environment.
  • An independent, self-directing working style.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic fast-paced industry.

Salary

The estimated salary for this role is £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
