Power BI Analytics Specialist

Barco is a leading global company that empowers visualization of information in high-end display and collaboration solutions. We are seeking a skilled Power BI Analytics Specialist to join our dynamic data and business intelligence team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our Power BI environment to support business intelligence and analytics needs throughout the organization.

This role involves working closely with various business units and functions to ensure the effective use of Power BI for data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the Power BI environment, including configuration, security, data policies, and connection references.
  • Connect and manage Power BI to various data sources, including on-premise and cloud-based data sources.
  • Implement and maintain semantic models to ensure data integrity and performance optimization.
  • Perform data cleansing and transformation tasks (ETL) to prepare data for analysis.
  • Design, develop, deploy, and configure Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to end-users, ensuring effective adoption and utilization of Power BI solutions.
  • Monitor and optimize Power BI performance, including capacity planning and server performance.
  • Manage user access and permissions to Power BI applications and resources, ensuring compliance with security policies.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience in Power BI development and administration.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query, DAX, and data gateway management.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to create visually compelling reports and dashboards.
  • Communication skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with business analysts, end-users, and other stakeholders.
  • Education: Bachelor's, master's or engineering degree in computer science, information technology, software, or a related field.
  • Languages: Good knowledge of spoken and written English.
