Role Overview: Area Sales Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Comprehend and implement the company’s strategic objectives in daily operations.

• Allocate resources and activities effectively on an annual, quarterly, and monthly basis (personnel/budget/initiatives).

• Lead and mentor sales representatives to achieve collective goals.

• Ensure compliance with all Bristol Myers Squibb’s ethical and regulatory standards.

• Establish and maintain ongoing communication with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders through various channels.

• Deliver exceptional customer service, fostering strong, long-term relationships while balancing diverse needs with professionalism and efficiency.

• Gather in-depth customer insights to understand their needs, particularly in disease management, and share feedback with management for effective resolution.

• Analyze customer segments and business opportunities, translating insights into actionable business plans.

• Monitor competitor activities closely and share innovative ideas with management and the team to gain a competitive edge.

• Cultivate strong working relationships across departments, especially in areas like disease education, marketing, medical affairs, market access, and corporate affairs, to drive business performance.

• Manage and oversee critical activities – including IHM (50% field observation) and RTM (80% field observation) – and hospital-related projects.

• Demonstrate a swift understanding of scientific information, engaging in continuous self-education through published literature and relevant academic discussions.

• Communicate clearly, logically, and concisely in diverse settings, including one-on-one meetings, formal group presentations, and written communications.

• Build trust with key opinion leaders through proficient communication skills and professional expertise.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
2. Familiarity with local and regional hospital promotion activities.
3. Minimum of 3 years of sales experience.
4. At least 2-3 years of experience leading a team in a managerial capacity.
5. Oncology experience is preferred.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork orientation, and the ability to independently analyze and resolve issues under pressure.
