Key Account Representative

The Opportunity:

As a Key Account Representative at Avantor, you will work independently under close supervision to sell products and/or services to a group of clients and identify new and potential customers to reach project profitability and billing levels within an assigned sales territory and/or account.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage a sales territory on a focused account base, working as part of a sales team dedicated to this account.
  2. Prospect and establish new customers within this account by managing a sales pipeline and developing and delivering proposals to customers by illustrating Avantor's value proposition.
  3. Sell consultatively, detailing products, determining customer needs and requirements, and making recommendations to both prospects and customers of the various solutions Avantor can offer their business.
  4. Work to develop strategic account business plans for achievement of sales growth and quota attainment, executing and implementing sales and marketing strategies that you design.
  5. Confidently provide and generate quotations and handle customer returns or complaints.
  6. Confidently pull sales reports to have detailed conversations of sales activities, account performance, and performance to forecast.
  7. Work directly with local manufacturer representatives to develop and continually improve product knowledge, arrive at most favored pricing, and improve account profitability.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Build and sustain relationships with customers and ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  2. Manage
  3. College Degree or equivalent experience required.
  4. Some Sales Experience Preferred.
  5. Business to Business or Distribution Sales Experience Preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Excellent communication and team interaction skills, routinely interacting with customers, manufacturers, and Avantor staff.
  2. Ability to carry on a business conversation with business owners and decision makers.
  3. Ability to handle difficult situations and interactions.
  4. Ability to work independently and successfully manage time and territory.
  5. Willingness to travel to customer locations.
  6. Computer Knowledge (Microsoft Office).
