Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • Act as ‘Strategic Business Partner’ and ‘Coach’ to China Retail in all relevant people management issues, supporting the team to ensure the best HR strategies and value-adding service are provided to attract, develop, motivate, and retain the talents in Commercial functions.
  • Develop and implement HR tools and guidance from HQ level for own retail stores to support China Own Retail business growth, covering all HR aspects including but not limited to workforce management, performance management, talent development, people engagement, etc.
  • Provide direction to GCA East Region Retail HR team to provide the best HR strategies and services to attract, develop, motivate and retain talents in the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a consultant on all HR-related topics to the leaders and employees of the support area including but not limited to HC planning, team structure, culture building, performance & talent management, employee relations etc. and coordinate with global partners where needed. 
  • Work closely with China Retail leaders to understand their business needs and translate business priorities into HR initiatives in order to enable business growth, drive change management plans. 
  • Drive talent strategy and execution in Retail back office and own retail stores for talent retention, management and development.
  • Provide insights on rewarding system, including external competitiveness, retention programs, etc.; support to review employee remuneration system on annual basis and drive annual salary rounds in accordance with global guidelines.
  • Manage workforce planning based on store productivity and personnel expense review for a scale of 6,000 HCs in 400 own retail stores; propose action plans to support the retail operation enhancement.
  • Support and execute People Strategy landing, also the quality execution of global HR functional initiatives in China.
  • Maintain a high level of communication with own retail team and promote culture and positive employee relations in the working environment.
  • Maintain a close collaboration with region HR team to implement HR tools in the field.
  • Continuously develop and coach the team to build a strong HR team.

Experience/skills required:

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years’ HR experience in consumer & FMCG industry, preferably HRBP.
  • Experienced team leader with strong management and coaching skills
  • Familiar with commercial environment
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)

  • HR Capabilities: Individual and collective labor law. HR Subject Matter Expert, use of HR metrics, change delivery support, organizational design, maintains external perspective, anticipating people trends, employee relations. Basic knowledge around workforce planning and organizational design
  • Business Capabilities: Digital Landscape, customer focus, understanding HR strategy, understanding business, its value chain and key processes.
  • Consulting Capabilities: Brokering solutions to meet business needs, ability to sell HR solutions to the business, trusted advisor, small group facilitation, coaching skills, project input and delivery.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent
  • At least 10 years HR management with preferably digital business support experience
  • Good understanding of FMCG/ consumer goods industry and digital landscape
  • Familiar with commercial environment
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
