Job Summary

The Operations Document Control Technical Writer is primarily tasked to support all departments within Operations to design, develop, and sustain operations documentation including Standard Operating Procedures and relevant documents that define approved procedures. This is achieved by implementing an effective document control process, working closely with operation leaders to best support their round-the-clock operation needs, and the management of a collaborative information technology platform. The Technical Writer is also expected to participate in frontline operations and to always maintain an accurate in-depth understanding of each operations department to be able to make the best possible decision to support each element of our operations division.

Major Responsibilities

Work with respective departments to develop and implement operational documentation for all departments within Operations and to ensure established procedures are user friendly for users to achieve an accurate understanding and execution of approved procedures, thus enhancing the overall compliance performance.

Maintain and update operational, safety, and training procedures for Operations. Actively receive and review contents for changes, and/or removal of key documents or procedures to better define and/or design each operation. Thereafter determine and provide the most appropriate approach to achieve timely and efficient delivery and execution of new contents to ensure the business remains compliant.

Sustain and improve system platforms in addition to provide support including account management, system content and basic troubleshooting to each department of the Operations team.

Prepare and communicate training audit findings and recommendations to the operations departments. Work closely with the operations departments to ensure follow-up on audit findings and recommendations, ensure resolutions and improvements are made to the findings.

Spending time in front-of-house areas and operations, observing, assisting, and/or executing procedures required of each operations team to better understand the expectations and challenges of each operations design and how best to word/phrase contents for procedure interpretation and execution. This includes achieving the qualifications of frontline team members and performing frontline team members task requiring interaction and providing service to Guest.

Any other tasking and responsibilities as assigned by UBR Leadership.

Qualifications

At least 2 years working experience in a position that requires adherence to written technical procedures or is directly responsible for/involved in the preparation of such documents.

Be able to translate various technologies, management and policies in consistent written procedures in both Chinese and English for end-user implementation and compliance.

Be able to conduct consecutive and simultaneous oral translations for meetings/events.

Ability to communicate effectively with leaders and colleagues on document control, procedure changes and compliance requirements, and to provide training and / or guidance in this area.

Be able to operate and manage a variety of software, including Microsoft office software and collaborative solutions used by enterprises, in order to provide high-quality service and operational support within the company.

Provide quality support on behalf of the Department by building strong relationships and trust, and be able to work with colleagues and management at all levels.

Be able to work independently without supervision and guidance, complete assigned tasks, and make appropriate decisions within the scope of responsibilities consistent with department leadership.

Education

University degree is preferred.

Bilingual: able to read and write in both English and Chinese fluently.

Holding software certifications will value-add this application.
