The global Information Technology (IT) division is spearheading initiatives to synchronize IT with business strategies, maximize IT investments, and enhance comprehensive business processes along with related information integration technologies. Through these initiatives, IT contributes to strengthening Corning's competitive edge through IT-enabled processes. Additionally, IT provides Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services efficiently to Corning on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for IT-related needs, ensuring timely responses to business users in the manufacturing facility.
  • Deliver daily IT services by collaborating with Global and Regional IT teams.
  • Address urgent manufacturing issues promptly.
  • Engage in significant plant activities as the IT liaison.
  • Conduct maintenance on the MES system software and hardware, including barcode systems and cameras as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Engineering, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related Management fields.
  • A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in IT software and hardware maintenance; programming experience is preferred.
  • Experience working with IT systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment is essential.

Essential Skills:

  • Awareness of Intellectual Asset Protection is necessary.
  • Proficient in English and Chinese communication, both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes is essential; experience in the glass industry is preferred.
  • Ability to develop software using tools such as Python, Java, C#, VB .NET, ASP .NET is advantageous.
  • Experience with Relational Database Systems, including SQL statements and stored procedures.
  • Commitment to performance excellence and quality focus.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Basic project management skills and awareness.

  • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills to bridge the gap between business and technology requirements.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
