This role serves as an excellent foundation for a career with Amazon.As a Vendor Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing strategies to manage essential performance metrics for our vendors.
The Career OpportunityYou will work collaboratively with leaders from various internal teams, taking charge of specific aspects of vendor relationships with Amazon.
Your role will involve direct engagement with multiple teams to enhance the business performance of key manufacturers on our platform.Utilizing a wide range of data, you will analyze and develop strategies to improve vendor supply chain efficiency, traffic, customer conversion, and revenue.
Additionally, you will assess both strategic and operational dimensions of vendor relationships, conducting root cause analyses to identify issues and opportunities.
Your primary focus will be on managing customer relationships with our vendors effectively.Key Responsibilities
- Regularly assess business performance metrics to identify and implement improvement actions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and partner teams to achieve collective goals.
- Work alongside the Retail Team to advocate for vendor needs within Amazon;
- Develop and execute strategic plans related to vendor performance metrics;
- Engage with internal teams and vendors to enhance operational processes for an exceptional consumer experience;
- Conduct in-depth analyses of vendor-related issues and formulate data-driven recommendations for improvement;
- Provide strategic insights regarding planning, roadmaps, and execution;
- Establish enduring partnerships with key vendor partners;
- Support the introduction of new programs, categories, and features;
- Conduct regular business reviews with vendors, emphasizing performance metrics and developing action plans;
- Influence metrics by understanding them and creating realistic forecasts, taking calculated risks, and swiftly adapting with new action plans.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent business qualification;
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in Japanese; good written English skills;
- Strong presentation abilities, with a knack for logical and concise expression. Proven active listening skills, highly consultative and solution-oriented;
- Data analysis proficiency – capable of collecting, cleaning, interpreting, and challenging data to provide actionable solutions;
- Influencing capabilities – adept at understanding metrics and creating realistic forecasts; negotiation skills;
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment while maintaining control over business objectives;
- Creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop original ideas and approaches;
- Team-oriented mindset focused on delivering high-quality results;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) and content management systems, with a quick learning ability for new tools;
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment while achieving business objectives.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in vendor management, sales, post-sales, account management, or business development in a B2B context;
- Familiarity with SQL and Python is advantageous.
