Regional CAT Manager - Formulation Chem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of global category strategy and implement it for your portfolio, ensuring alignment, compliance, and process standards to deliver required business performance in your region.
  • Closely collaborate with business and build effective, trustful, personal, and virtual relationships with key global, regional, or country stakeholders.
  • Manage supply agreements and contracts, monitoring and controlling contractual agreements and clauses throughout their lifecycle, and minimizing exposure to contractual risks in external relationships through the use of terms and conditions aligned with the legal function.
  • Analyze purchasing markets and its segments, conditions, trends, market players, and innovation trends, providing country-specific market intelligence to mitigate supply risk and gain a competitive advantage.
  • Manage supplier relationships and implement supplier management principles in the supply base, building relationships and improving supplier performance, incorporating the company's responsibility and commitment to sustainable business practices into category supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance through reports, audits, and improvement plans.
  • Plan and execute sourcing events via external partners to create a competitive advantage.
  • Support diversity and inclusion programs in local markets as appropriate.
  • Manage innovation together with strategic suppliers and Bayer's R&D teams.
  • Deliver yearly savings, price index, working capital improvements, sustainability, and other key performance indicators in tight regulatory markets.
  • Conduct supplier management, monitoring supplier performance, and steering the required level of services from GEP in the region.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS in a relevant field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience, such as an MBA/MS in a business or technical field.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills at the general management level.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to manage a virtual team environment.
  • Organization, executive-level, intercultural, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical decision-making skills and creative thinking.
  • Specific knowledge and experience of strategic procurement, quality management systems, Japanese and Korean chemical regulatory requirements, and logistics processes, principles, and practices.
  • Ability to single-handedly manage Japanese suppliers, especially in relation to cultural values and assumptions, business customs, and Japanese business and technical language. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a business capacity in a Japanese environment is required.
  • Similar ability to manage Korean suppliers would be an added advantage.
