HR Specialist

As an HR Specialist, China, you are part of our APAC HR Team. You will play a key role in leading implementation, standardising and developing HR initiatives, and processes for our office in Shanghai.
The key purpose of the role is to partner with the business to accelerate the business growth of Tate & Lyle Asia Pacific in China and we can achieve that with the following:
Create a value-based, inclusive working culture with discipline for the Shanghai team.
Act as the catalyst of change & proactively challenge the organization for superior performance.
Build the China HR team payroll capability to consistently deliver regular payroll across China.
About You
We’re looking to recruit an HR Specialist China, reporting to the Head of HR, China based in Shanghai.
This is a varied role for a person who enjoys challenges and works as a business partner with the business as we grow our footprint in China.

What You’ll Be Doing
Main Responsibilities:
Work closely with Shanghai office employees and the local management team by driving the development & delivery of people strategies & plans for short & long-term business needs.
Effective communication with corporate/China HR team and management to implement corporate initiatives and effective HR programs.
Review & implement compensation & benefits policies to ensure the company remains competitive while optimizing motivation & reward, in line with the corporate compensation & benefits framework.
Provide support on diverse matters including recruitment, performance management, reward & talent management, people development, capability building, employee relations, policy development, succession planning and compensation & benefits.
Provide HR support to local management on organizational development (structures, culture, HR system and policies)
Serve as a resource/consultant in strategic and tactical approaches for all HR areas. Coach the representative management team through employee-related issues and ensure local Labour Law compliance.
Ensure the HRIS system is maintained promptly.
Execute all the HR initiatives like engagement action plans, talent reviews as well as recognition programs to develop the culture.
Continuously improve processes or policies to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR functions
Payroll preparation and execution for China
EHS responsibility :
Compliance with procedures that implement the requirements of the EHS policies and procedures
Being responsible for the actions of the assigned element owners
Carry out the work in a manner which does not present a risk to him/herself, others and the environment
Report all incidents, defects, hazards and inadequacies of procedures so that appropriate review and corrective action can be taken
Suggest improvements and be active in the general improvement of all systems and methods of work to ensure EHS Support’s activities and services are carried out in a safe, environmentally responsible, reliable and cost-effective manner
Location
This role is assigned to our China office located in Shanghai, Xuhui District
What You’ll have
Degree in Human Resources or related discipline
Minimum 5-8 years of HR experience
Good business insights and the ability to understand and drive changes to enable the business
Demonstrated competence in the various HR functional areas, especially HR partnership, payroll and organization development.
Payroll experience and skills are required.
Good knowledge of local Labour Law and compliance culture.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Chinese & English.
Ability to work in complex organization structure
Ability to work independently and work as business partners with the local management team
Self-motivated, good initiative and persistent to work through challenges
Good problem-solving skills and decision-making skills
Able to manage multiple complex issues and prioritize projects.
Ability to influence up, down, and across the business on matters of operational and tactical significance for the team.
Knowledge of MS Office and SAP
Solid HR Project management experience, having integration experience is a plus
Experience in both MNC and local companies is a plus
