Your Role

As a Strategic Alliance Director at Bayer, you will be responsible for managing two or more pharmaceutical alliances with external partners, ensuring the highest standards and best possible benefits for Bayer. You will be the key interface between Bayer Pharma and partner key players, overseeing project governance and being a member of joint governance committees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage alliances with external partners, ensuring timely and proactive dispute resolution and issue escalation.
  • Set up regular alliance management health checks, reviewing progress with line managers and escalating potential issues.
  • Develop strong counterpart relationships, building trust and serving as an effective communication channel between Bayer and partners.
  • Familiarize yourself with major operational issues relating to the alliance and ensure compliance with divisional and corporate Bayer governance standards.
  • Work with cross-functional colleagues to establish new collaboration agreements, in-licensing deals, partnerships, alliances, M&A, and divestments.
  • Establish alliance charters for managed alliances and stay up-to-date with best external practices and the evolution of the Alliance Management function.

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business development or equivalent, with a Bachelor's degree or above (specialization in Medical/Pharmaceutics/Business/Finance preferred).
  • Strong leadership skills, including cross-functional team-building, conflict resolution, and management.
  • Good project management experience, including timeline management and milestone deliverables.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn and draw on new analytical techniques.
  • Ability to summarize abstract ideas clearly and independently manage project objectives.
  • Extensive knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, business analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English, including negotiation, presentation, and influence.
