Since its inception in 2006, Amazon Web Services has established itself as the world's most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. With over 240 fully featured services for compute, storage, databases, networking, analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), mobile, security, hybrid, media, and application development, deployment, and management, AWS provides a robust suite of products and services to power businesses.
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest-growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers, including public sector organizations. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies, recognizing that world-class support is crucial to customer success. AWS Support partners with a global list of customers building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
Amazon Web Services in ChinaAmazon Web Services entered the Chinese market in 2013, investing heavily in infrastructure and business expansion ever since. In 2016, AWS launched its China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, followed by the China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD, in 2017. In 2019, AWS added a new region in Hong Kong, making China the only country with three Amazon Web Services regions aside from the U.S. In 2022, AWS launched Local Zone in Taipei. Additionally, AWS has established an AI lab in Shanghai and two IoT labs in Shenzhen and Taipei. The Amazon Web Services Partner Network has thousands of Partners in China. AWS has supported over 10,000 local startups and provided cloud skills training to over 700,000 talents. Furthermore, Amazon's first two utility-scale renewable projects are generating clean energy for the country's grid.
The AWS Startup BD TeamThe AWS Startup BD team works closely with top startups worldwide, interfacing with founders, accelerator leadership teams, angel investors, and navigating cross-AWS and Amazon initiatives to enable startups' success. The team comprises high-caliber professionals with extensive global backgrounds, driving high-impact initiatives across AWS to build the startup ecosystem in Greater China and support the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Job Responsibilities- Serve as a key member of the Startup BD Greater China team, driving necessary business insights and strategic relationships with top startups and stakeholders.
- Work with venture partners as their single point of contact for all things AWS, helping them understand AWS benefits and opportunities for their startups.
- Participate in startup community events to identify high-potential startups, build personal relationships with founders, and evangelize AWS' value and innovation culture.
We're looking for experienced professionals with a proven track record in business development, partnership management, or sourcing new business experience. Ideal candidates will have a strong understanding of the startup and venture capital ecosystem, with experience working within the technology industry, preferably in cloud, software, mobile, SaaS, e-commerce, etc. A Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required, and preferred qualifications include experience in business development, partner development, sales, or alliances management, with a proven ability to drive end-to-end delivery and communicate results to senior leadership.
