Lead Account Executive

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Account Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing connections with Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 suppliers, and other key partners within the Automotive sector in the China market. This position involves close collaboration with Wind River's leadership, as well as teams in Delivery, Product Management, Sales, and Marketing, to pinpoint current and prospective business opportunities in the Automotive Electronics domain. Additionally, the role includes facilitating customer interactions on behalf of Wind River.
Collaboration & Reporting
You will report directly to the Senior Manager of Regional Sales for the Automotive Vertical and will work alongside various functional teams, including Field Application Engineers (FAEs), Service, Engineering, Marketing, and Product Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage sales efforts for a select group of Automotive clients, including OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, while meeting assigned sales targets.
- Utilize resources from other teams, including FAEs and senior management, to secure significant or strategic deals.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing and new customer accounts in the East China region.
- Provide valuable market insights to the Automotive team to enhance the development of services and products.
- Assist in creating go-to-market materials related to Automotive products and services, including sales tools, training, competitive analysis, and ongoing support.
ABOUT YOU
Core Competencies & Proven Success
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional in the Automotive industry, possessing a deep understanding of market dynamics and a robust network of customer and partner relationships.
This individual will have a demonstrated history of crafting and executing strategies that have significantly expanded or transformed an Automotive software business. A strong background in Automotive Electronics, particularly in embedded software and/or Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), is essential. Furthermore, a comprehensive understanding of the Automotive market, including key players, regulatory influences, and ecosystems, is crucial.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Automotive Electronics Sales, Marketing, Strategy, or Business Development, with a focus on software and services.
- Extensive knowledge of the Electric Vehicle and Software Market, particularly in areas such as Under the Hood (UTH), Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Cockpit, or telematics.
- Established connections with leading Automotive Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs, as well as industry consortia.
- Experience in financial modeling and business case development.
- Experience interfacing with C-level executives for business development and information gathering.
- Fundamental understanding of embedded computing, operating systems, and development tools.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to navigate discussions across product, services, marketing, strategy, and technical domains.
- Strong influence management capabilities and the ability to foster collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficient in spoken and written English.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Willingness to travel 50-70% of the time.
