Job Title: Business Development Manager

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at PEOPLECERT. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing strong pipelines and delivering new business in your assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all activities within China to help expand the China market
  • Connect with corporates, government entities, and other professional organizations to grow awareness and market size of PC products
  • Work closely with PC partner organizations in China to help them sell more of PC products
  • Apply astute skills in account management and employ extensive professional experience in developing and nurturing high-quality business relationships at Senior Executive level
  • Maintain and achieve maximum B2B market penetration of PeopleCert products, implementing a target-driven sales strategy
  • Coordinate various aspects of activity in tandem with the company's operations base and with respect to local market conditions and culture
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy by maximizing Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment
  • Monitor own progress against daily/weekly/monthly targets and report accordingly to Headquarters
  • Facilitate and expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints, working closely with support teams
  • Participate in trade shows and conventions

Requirements:

  • Post-graduate degree in IT, preferably an MBA
  • Over 15 years' experience in driving new business development at corporate level, with proven track record in driving successful business development transactions
  • Awareness of ITIL, Prince2, Devops, and other products of PEOPLECERT is desirable but not an absolute must
  • A self-starter with an entrepreneurial bent of mind who can work across different cultures to help grow the market
  • Sound understanding of channel development, strategy selling principles, partnership strategy, and consultative selling
  • Superb relationship, communication, and negotiation skills in working with executives, external constituents, and other business functions at all levels of seniority and different cultures
  • Exposure in the Education market, Consulting, or Examination/Certification sectors in previous role(s) as well as prior experience in international corporate environments will be considered an asset
  • Excellent command of the English language (C2 level certification desired, LanguageCert C2 LTE or C2 IESOL certificate would be a plus)
  • Advanced computer literacy is required. ECDL Advance level certification is desirable. Experience in Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar software will be considered an asset

Working on Home Office (HO) Secure English Language Tests (SELTs)

Any person who is engaged by PeopleCert to work on the SELT service must undergo a Background Check (the results of which must be acceptable to PeopleCert and the HO) prior to commencing their SELT duties. All SELT personnel will be required to complete a declaration (provided by PeopleCert) where the existence of any criminal record and/or bankruptcy must be declared.

If working on the SELT service in the UK, background checks will include:

  • A basic or enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check
  • Right to Work in the UK check (including nationality, identity, and place of residence)
  • HO security check (Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) or Counter Terrorist Check (CTC)
  • Financial background check
  • Employment reference check.
  • If working on the SELT service anywhere in the world (outside of the UK) personnel will undergo background checks that are equivalent to those stated for the UK.

In addition, if personnel are required to speak to SELT candidates they must be appropriately skilled in English language and, where SELT services are provided anywhere in the world (outside of the UK), the official language of the relevant country.
