Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team at Allnex in Shanghai, China. As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for driving growth of our coating additives business in both industrial coating and architecture coating.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive growth of our coating additives business in China.
- Manage new additives promotional initiatives, focusing on strategic product placement and potential new developments in China.
- Collaborate with regional sales teams to identify new opportunities and lead key projects.
- Work closely with technical service and development teams to develop new sales tools and support the promotion of additives.
- Monitor major competitors' activities and provide related competition information to the commercial team.
- Regularly visit customers, work closely with sales teams and distributors to resolve problems and troubleshoot activities.
- Support the creation of new product literature, bulletins, and technical presentations for local markets.
- Observe local market trends, conduct market studies, and analyze competitive situations.
- Manage local distribution channels for additives to ensure strategic product distribution and profitability.
- Create sales leads and support cross-business unit sales forces to ensure successful sales closures.
- Work closely with product line managers for all relevant updates, pricing, and product mix.
- Provide monthly reports summarizing additives business development, product development, and technical support.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in business development, sales, or technical service, with a demonstrated background in chemical industry and coating additives technologies.
- Strong technical expertise or background in additives.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
- Good command of English.
- Excellent communication skills, written, presentation, and verbal.
- Track record in key account management and business/customer development in new markets or with new products.
- Excellent sales skills and commercial acumen.
- A strong bias towards action leading to commercialization.
- Availability to travel.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or science discipline. MBA is a plus.
